Willie Peña, 65, of Santa Fe, NM passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2015. He served multiple tours from 1967 1969 in Vietnam where he was a Purple Heart recipient. He also received a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Sharpshooter Medal, and a Vietnam Service Medal.
He is preceded in death by his father, Manuel Peña, and his Primo Hermano, Manuel Marquez.
He is survived by his mother, Jean Garcia Peña of Portales, NM, daughters, Tammy Salas(Pete) of Portales, NM, Renee Flores (Phillip) of Santa Clarita, CA, sons: Manuel Peña (Consuelo) of Pecos, NM, Ernesto Peña, Shaun Peña (Oneva), William Peña (Claudia), 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brother, Joe Peña, all of Santa Fe, NM, sister, Mary Lou Peña of Rio Rancho, NM, brother, Abran Peña (Tamara) of Albuquerque, NM, former spouses, Susie Pena and Shirley Tapia.
A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 12:30 PM at San Isidro Center followed by a Mass at 1:30 PM. Interment will follow at The Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 PM.
Pallbearers will be: Shaun Peña, Ernesto Peña, William Peña, Manuel Peña, Carl Tapia Jr., and Billy Joe Peña.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Joe Peña, Abran Peña, Pete Salas, Phillip Flores, Tony Peña, Carl Tapia Sr., Anthony Vigil, Ernest Tapia.
