Virginia Ortiz, age 62 a life time resident of Santa Fe went to be with the Lord Saturday, December 5, 2015 due to a short difficult illness. She is preceded in Death by her parents, Jose and Leocadia Ortiz, sister in law Helen Ortiz, brother in laws Mike Marquez and Mark Mendoza and grandparents: Abundio and Marillita Armijo and Benito and Clemencia Ortiz and many uncles, aunts and cousins. Her Siblings are: Rosina and husband Joe Medrano, Benny and wife Mary Ortiz, Delia and husband Paul Tapia (deceased), Robert and wife Josie Ortiz, Ramon and wife Susan Ortiz, Rudy and wife Helen Ortiz, Angie and husband Tony Barela, and Erlinda (deceased) and husband John Sanchez. She is survived by: many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and aunts: Maida Martinez, Maria Burton Martinez, and Lari Armijo. We express our appreciation to nieces Liz Armijo, Cecilia Medrano, Victoria Barela and Laura Sanchez, doctors and nurses, and other family members for taking loving care of Virginia during her difficult illness. She Graduated from Santa Fe High and retired from the U. S. National Park Service after 37 years of continued service. Virginia was very active in Cristo Rey Parish as lector, Extra Ordinary Minister, and took Holy Communion to the sick. She enjoyed playing tennis, was an avid photographer, and enjoyed watching her favorite football team, the Denver Broncos. Memorial Contributions: In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Center. Memorial services will be held at Cristo Rey Parish, 1120 Canyon Road on Thursday, December 10, 2015. Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am and Holy Mass at 11:00 am will be officiated by the Father Rob. Burial Services will follow at Rosario Cemetery, 499 North Guadalupe.
