Virginia Barreras

Virginia G. Rios (Valdez,Barreras,) a longtime resident of Alcalde NM @Pecos NM went peacefully to our Lord and Saviour on Friday January 23, 2026 @Swedish hospital, Denver Colorado.

 Virginia is preceded in death by her father, Donald Armando Rios, mother Celia Martinez Rios, David J. Rios (Alice) Brother Enrico A. Rios and Virginia's son Ray Valdez. 

Virginia was born on September 28th, 1952, in Santa Fe NM and grew up there. Virginia was a happy baby as recalled by her older brother Eddie. She was a bit of a tomboy since She loved being around her older brothers doing what they were doing, at least until her younger sister came along. When baby sister Betty (Roberta)arrived, she took so much interest in helping care for her. We as older brothers thought baby Betty was her own personal doll.

 Virginia worked @Ohkay Owingeh Tribal offices in San Juan NM. Also worked for the Santa Fe County manager and Santa Fe Public Schools where she retired from.

 Virginia is survived 2 brothers Eddie Rios, Ronald G. Rios (Lila) loving sister (Roberta) Betty Quintana (Leonard) of Pecos NM. Her daughter Felicia Martinez grandson Joshua Martinez grandson Ray Jr. Valdez (Krista) special nieces Alva Rios and Sarah Quintana, special nephews Norman and brother Marvin Valdez and many more nieces, nephews, Uncles and Aunts.
