Valentina Baldonado

Valentina Baldonado peacefully passed away at her home on May 12, 2026, at the age of 94, surrounded by her family. Valentina was born on September 15, 1931, to Antonio (Tono) and Ascension (Chon) Maestas and was raised in Canjilon, NM. She married her husband, Jose Roques Baldonado, and had two sons, Joseph Baldonado, whom she cared for until he passed away, and Leo Baldonado (Xio). She had two grandchildren, Daisy Quintana (Chris) and Ramos Baldoando, whom she helped raise and cared for. She had three great- grandchildren whom she also helped raise and cared for: Brandin Ortiz (Shantel), Deion Baldonado, and Larry Quintana. She was a dedicated Catholic and prayed the rosary every day. She loved cooking for all her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids, who were her pride and joy. Valentina also enjoyed talking on the phone with her friends and sister (Clorinda). She was an amazing cook and was the glue that held our family together. You are going to be greatly missed. You will never know how much we all love you!!.

We would like to express our special thanks to Bertha Baily for taking time out of her everyday ie to care for Valentina on a daily basis for the last month until the day she went to be in heaven.
