In Loving Memory of Tomas Silva

Tomas Silva, born September 12, 1947, was called home to our Lord on September 9, 2026, at the age of 78. He passed away following complications from liver disease.

Tomas was preceded in death by his parents, Marcelino and Alice Silva, and by his siblings Rudy Silva, Robert Silva, Angie Englisbee, Rosalie, Dorothy Faussett, and Robert David Jr.

He is survived by his beloved son, Marcelino Silva, and his wife, Sarah; Grandchildren Isaac and Marcella. His sisters Cecilia Moya, Lucille Marietta and her husband Herb, Josephine Romero and her husband Phillip, and Annabelle Ibarra and her husband Costa; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Tomas proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran. Although his experiences during the Vietnam War were a difficult chapter in his life, he came away from that experience with lifelong friendships. The men he served alongside became more than fellow soldiers-they became brothers. Those bonds remained an important part of his life

Tomas was also a talented tile setter who turned his craft into art. To him, tile was more than a job; it was a blank canvas. With his talent, patience, and creativity, he created beautiful works of art still seen in many hotels throughout Las Vegas, Nevada. His work reflected the pride he took in everything he did.

Tomas had a personality that could light up a room. He never let life keep him down for long. He loved to laugh, tell jokes, cook, and spend time with family and friends. He was especially passionate about his beloved Denver Broncos and never missed an opportunity to cheer for his team.

Tomas will be remembered for his sense of humor, creativity, love of family, friendships, and ability to find joy in life. He leaves behind memories that will bring laughter, smiles, and comfort to those who knew and loved him.

He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

Services

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Catholic Mass at 10:30 a.m. at:

Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church

Burial services will follow at 12:30 p.m. at: Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 North Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87501

A reception will follow immediately after the burial at Our Lady of Guadalupe Hall.

May Tomas rest in eternal peace and may perpetually light shine upon him.
