Tita Vigil

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, Tita Vigil (nee Maestas) passed away peacefully at the age of 86 years on June 7th 2025. 

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons; Aaron Paul Vigil (Alice Kathleen) and Wayne Joseph Vigil, grandchildren; Christopher Brandon Vigil and Sondra Monique Vigil, great grandson; Aaron Brandon Vigil; numerous nieces and nephews as well as a multitude of friends. 

She was predeceased by her husband Prescilliano Vigil; parents, Pablo R. Martinez and Amalia Maestas-Martinez; brothers; Frank, Juan, Ignacio, Gilbert and sister; Mary.

 Born in Mora, New Mexico she moved to Santa Fe after graduating from high school and serving as a missionary for St. Gertrudes Catholic Church. She worked for the New Mexico Motor Vehicle Division and the N.M. State Highway Department. After retirement she was a Sergeant-at-Arms for the N.M. State Legislature, Poll Worker for the Santa Fe Bureau of Elections and was granted life membership to the Santa Fe Fiesta Council for her many years of dedication and support. 

She enjoyed being around friends and family and loved to dance. She was especially fond of young children and babies who all seemed to gravitate to her pleasant and loving disposition. 

Tita will be dearly missed but she will always be in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. 

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Beehive Assisted Living and to the Legacy Hospice Care Professionals for their care and compassion.

Services will be held on June 24, 2025 at 10:00 AM (Rosery) At St Johns Catholic Church followed by a Mass at 11:00 AM.

Interment at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:30 PM
