Thomas Manuel Trujillo
August 28, 1963 — June 27, 2025
Thomas Manuel Trujillo, known by many as "Tommy", was born in Santa Fe, NM on August 28, 1963, and passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 27, 2025, at the age of 61.
Tom married Jacqueline Trujillo in 1990, and they spent the past 35 years together, growing in love, mutual support, and laughter. He was a devoted father to his two children, Dylan and Tiffany, and he held a special place in his heart for Tiffany’s boyfriend, Mario. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend to many. He was dedicated to his family and friends and was there for everyone whenever they needed him.
He grew up in Santa Fe and Albuquerque and met Jackie while attending New Mexico Highlands University on a football scholarship. Tom played with passion and heart, earning the nickname “Master Blaster.” His 1981 RMAC Championship team was recently inducted into the NMHU Hall of Fame.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, Tommy started working for the State of New Mexico. His most notable role was as the NMDOT Highway Equipment Manager, from which he retired after 25 years. He loved his work and built lifelong friendships along the way.
Following his retirement from NMDOT, he took some time off and then worked as the Payroll Master for The Four Seasons Rancho Encantado Resort. After years of devoted service, Tom decided to enjoy his retirement without work, spend more time with family and friends, and continue to travel the world with Jackie.
He loved going to the movies and even had a monthly pass. He took pride in maintaining and landscaping the home that he and Jackie built from the ground up, complete with a man cave where he could watch sports and practice his newest pool tricks. He loved camping, fly-fishing, boating, riding his Harley, cruising in his Corvette, and cheering on his favorite teams. Go Cowboys! He knew the stats, the plays, and how the players performed in college. If someone he knew played a sport, you better believe he was there to support them in the stands.
He loved life itself and made others' lives more enjoyable just with his presence. His lighthearted nature made him a constant source of jokes. He never failed to make people laugh. Everyone who knew him well would agree that he helped shape who they are today, especially his family. If you had his attention, he made you feel like he was your biggest fan. As a father, he never let us down. He was so proud to watch us grow and always reminded us to be strong. He believed in us completely and taught us that we could do anything, as long as we gave it our all. The values he taught us will stay with us and be carried for the rest of our lives.
Tommy was the definition of "life of the party." His main goal in life was to make sure everyone around him was filled with laughter and smiles, and he always succeeded. This is a loss that barely can be put into words because of how cherished he was. He will be forever loved, missed, and remembered by so many.
