In Loving Memory of Thelma Jean Jones
1940 – September 30, 2026
Thelma Jean Reid Jones, also known as Jean and professionally as TJ Jones, passed away at her home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on September 30, 2026, at the age of 86.
Born in 1940, Jean was raised at her family’s homestead along Sabadilla Creek in the Pecos Mountains of Northern New Mexico. She began school in Ocate, New Mexico, then attended school in Las Vegas before moving to Santa Fe during junior high.
In Santa Fe, Jean met and married the love of her life, Jack Edward Jones. They married in 1956 and raised three children together.
After raising her children, Jean earned her GED and became a successful Realtor and real estate broker, known professionally as TJ Jones.
Jean and Jack later retired to their cabin in Northern New Mexico. Following Jack’s passing, Jean returned to Santa Fe.
Jean's faith in the Lord was an important part of who she was. She spoke openly of her beliefs and carried her faith with her throughout her life. Her trust in God brought her strength and comfort, and her love for her family remained one of her greatest blessings.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Karen George (Bryan) and Ruth Jones; her son, Steven B. Jones; her sister, Violet Brogdon (Larry); her grandchildren, Loren George, Jeremiah Baca, Sherry Goldbogen (Jake), Daisy Padilla (Jairus), and Jack Jones; her great-grandchildren, Justin Rodriguez, Travis George, Hazel George, Zoë George, and Steven C. Jones; and her great-great-grandchild, Aria Jean Rodriguez.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Edward Jones, and her grandson, Bryce Eric George; and other cherished family members.
Jean leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories, a legacy of love faith, and determination, and a family who will forever carry her stories in their hearts.
