Tessie Lewis

TESSIE LEWIS 87, of Santa Fe, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015. She was born May 17, 1927 in Santa Fe, the daughter of Luzlinda and Albino Portillo. She and George E. Lewis were married in Santa Fe on December 31, 1959. Together they owned and operated The Casinova in Pecos for many years. Tessie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband George Lewis. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Bryant and husband Richard of Glorieta; Grandsons, James Michael Thorne of Toluca Lake, CA and Johnathan Ross Thorne and wife Tara of Orlando, FL; Granddaughters, Rebeca Spurlock and husband Ryan of Rio Rancho, and Sarah Krause and husband Andrew of London, England; and her sister Rosina Gonzales of Santa Fe. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren. Tessie will be remembered as a loving, caring wife, mother, and grandmother who was known for her wonderful cooking. A Mass will be held on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 10 am at Rosario Chapel.
