Terry Michael Scott, 70, began his journey into the light on May 18, 2025, at his home in Taos, New Mexico.
A beloved member of the Taos community for over 30 years, Terry brought music, laughter and joy to those around him. Originally from Los Angeles, California, Terry was a gifted musician, a passionate radio host, and a creative force who built recording studios that nurtured countless artists.
Whether lifting spirits with a story or song, volunteering his time or caring for animals, Terry lived fully and gave freely.
Terry had a sharp wit. He was funny—always quick with a joke—and as a close friend of Terry's said, "Heaven just got a comedian. The angels are laughing right now." Terry was also deeply kind and had a generous heart.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Carl LeeRoy Scott and Joyce Winona Scott, and his sister Linda Scott. He is survived by his loving wife, Pepper Scott, his cherished fur-baby Jolie Scott, and his sisters Susan Grizzle and Marilyn Wright.
To honor Terry’s memory, the family kindly requests donations be made to Rio Fernando Volunteer Fire District and Habitat for Humanity of Taos—two causes close to his heart.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
