Terence “Chip” Dunahugh, Jr. passed away on Monday February 6, 2017 in Santa Fe, NM, where he resided since 2005. An artist, expert skier, rugby player, contractor, devoted husband, and dear friend to many, Chip will forever live in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know his vibrant spirit.
Chip received his MFA in painting from Tyler School of Art at Temple University, a BFA in painting and printmaking from Washington University in St. Louis, and a fellowship award for study at Yale University's Norfolk program in painting. He also took part in numerous American Institute of Architects award-winning renovations serving as a design consultant, general contractor and sub-contractor. Chip's paintings have been exhibited throughout the United States including the Harwood Museum, the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design, the Springfield Art Museum, Loyola Marymount University and the State Museum of Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his wife, Romi Sloboda Dunahugh; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Terence Dunahugh, Sr. of Marengo, Ohio; his brothers Pat and Steve Dunahugh; two nephews; two nieces; as well as a large extended family in central Ohio.
A celebration of Chip’s life will take place on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 2pm in the Kiva of Light Chapel at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
