Ted Agapito Sedillo, a beloved construction worker known for building homes that became havens for families, passed away on April 30, 2026, in his hometown of Santa Fe, New Mexico, where his journey began on January 12, 1960. Ted’s life was a testament to his unwavering commitment to family and the joy he found in the simple pleasures of life.
Born and raised in Santa Fe, Ted’s smile was contagious—a beacon of warmth and light that brightened every room he entered. He had an incredible gift for joking around with his family, turning ordinary moments into cherished memories. Those who knew him well speak of his deep devotion to putting family first, always ready with a helping hand to support those he loved.
Ted found treasured solace and joy in fishing, the roar and thrill of classic cars and drag racing, and the timeless charm of old western movies. These interests were reflections of his vibrant spirit and zest for life, a spirit that he embraced fully and shared generously.
His daughter, Sonya Sedillo, was undoubtedly his pride and joy, and his adoration for his grandchildren was evident to all who witnessed the bond they shared. Survived by Sonya, her husband Mark Valdez, granddaughter Monica Coriz, and life partner Marilyn Martinez, Ted also leaves behind siblings Joy Sedillo, Leo Leyba, Lee Sedillo, and their beloved wives Isabel Leyba and Garlene Sedillo, Brother In-law Chris Larranaga, and along with three stepdaughters and six grandchildren who will carry his legacy forward. His losses include his parents, Ramon and Erlinda Sedillo, and his sister Kim Larranaga—an aching void heartfully remembered.
We lost a beautiful soul on that day in Santa Fe, surrounded by those who cherished him most. Ted loved life deeply and cherished every moment he spent with his family, embracing each day as a gift. His homebuilding was more than a profession; it was a reflection of his nurturing character, providing shelter and safety to many. Though Ted has left us, the imprint of his love, laughter, and generous heart remains everlasting.
As his family and friends hold tight to the memories of his contagious smile, playful spirit, and unwavering support, Ted Agapito Sedillo will be dearly missed and never forgotten. His life, rich with love and kindness, continues to inspire all who knew him.
