Steve Casias

1960 — July 26, 2024

Steve Casias, a beloved member of the Ranchos de Taos community, entered eternal rest on July 26, 2024, at the age of 63. Born in Montpellier, Idaho, and raised in Talpa, Steve was known for his warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends.

 

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Felipe Casias; his brothers, Leo and Michael; and his son, Juan Pacheco. He is survived by his loving wife, Martica Casias; his daughter, Jaimie Casias (Joshua); Nicole Romero, whom he embraced as a daughter; and Melissa Naranjo, his stepdaughter; his mother, Stella Casias; his brother, Phillip Casias (Claudia); his sisters, Joann Hacker (Kenneth) and Joyce Casias (Brad); his godchildren, Sonya, Pablo, Lorenzo, and Antonio Ramirez; his grandchildren, Alyssa Pacheco, Jaylee, and Jiraiya Silva; his great-granddaughter, KylieRose Santana; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Steve's family was the center of his world, and he took immense pride in their achievements and happiness.

 

Steve’s legacy of love and community spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A rosary will be recited on Thursday, August 8, at 9:00 AM, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Jesús Nazareno Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the GoFundMe campaign set up in Steve’s memory.
