Espi turned 65 on the day he passed away.
Growing up in Taos gave him his identity and personal strength as he ascended his educational goals; he set his sights on working in Hollywood. He did everything to finally reach his achievement in pyrotechnics until 2003, when he retired.
Returning to Taos, he found his new passion; befriending people of all ages and backgrounds and living on the mesa with his wife, Phyllis. He made it his life's work to help those who couldn't help themselves.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Adelane, and father, Jose. Also, his brother Alberto and his step-daughter Samantha.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis and many, many friends.
In special reference to his end of life care, specifically Chester, Suny, and Annie Mae. Along with the staff of Anvoi Hospice, Susan RN, Nicole RN, and Tara SW. All of these fine people and more provided excellent care.
He chose to leave this world on the day of his birth to complete his life and death cycle.
