Silviano Sanchez, born on October 4, 1938, in Llano De San Juan, New Mexico, passed away on July 9, 2025, in Española, New Mexico. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and a profound love for his family.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Anival, Demecio, Santos, and Amadeo Sanchez, sisters, Maria Martinez and Delfina Vasquez. Silviano is survived by his wife, Olivia Sanchez, sons, Ernest (Cynthia) Sanchez, Silviano Jr. (Tere) Sanchez, Eric (Jessica) Sanchez, daughters, Elaine (Bruce) Mascarenas and Sandra (Elmer) Rodarte. 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Silviano had a diverse and industrious career throughout his life. He worked in road maintenance across the beautiful landscapes of New Mexico, showcasing his strong work ethic. His contributions to the mining industry as a miner at Moly Corp. Mine are remembered with appreciation, as is his time as a bus driver for the Penasco School District, where he played a vital role in the lives of countless children and families within the community.

Above all, Silviano was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Olivia Sanchez. They shared an enduring love that spanned 66 years. Together, they cherished simple pleasures, including memorable nights spent playing bingo. Silviano adored spending time with his grandchildren, showering them with unconditional love and wisdom, which will undoubtedly carry on through generations.

He was known as a hard-working Jack of all trades, possessing a wide array of skills reflected in his hobbies. His passion for hunting and working on cars brought him joy and allowed him to connect with friends and family, often sharing these interests with those closest to him.

Silviano is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Ascencion Sanchez. His indomitable spirit and dedication to his family will be dearly missed, but his memory will forever remain alive in the hearts of all who knew him.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Penasco, NM, at 11:00am.
