Sandra Jackson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on January 11, 2026, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Born on May 26, 1939, in Oakland, California, Sandra lived a life marked by creativity, independence, and deep appreciation for art, animals, beauty, and meaningful connection.
Sandra had two children, Shawn Jackson (Tawnya) and Erin Jackson (Elizabeth). She was a devoted grandmother to three grandchildren: Anthony, Kyle, Claire, and two great grandchildren, Theodore and Franklin. She is also survived by her brother, John Hallock (Patti).
Over the course of her life, Sandra lived in many places that reflected her adventurous and unconventional spirit, including Alaska; Oregon, where she lived on a houseboat; West Seattle; and Bainbridge Island. Each place became a home shaped by her eye for good design and her love of art.
Sandra studied art and design at the University of California, Berkeley. She built a career as an interior designer and jeweler, creating work that reflected her refined taste and originality. Her jewelry collection, Jewels of La Loba, was admired for its craftsmanship and distinctive style, and she continued sharing her work through platforms such as Etsy. Known for her classic and confident sense of style—often favoring black, white, or red—Sandra expressed herself thoughtfully in all aspects of her life.
Sandra shared fourteen meaningful years with her husband, Graham Cawdrey. Together they traveled extensively, including trips to Italy, England, Scotland, and Zihuatanejo, places that held special meaning for them both. Their relationship was grounded in shared curiosity, art, and companionship.
In her final moments, Sandra was with Graham and her son Shawn, listening to Beethoven. She approached the end of her life with strength and clarity, remaining true to herself and her values. She wrote the ending to her own script.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Beverly Hallock and her son, Erin Jackson. She will be remembered for her creativity, independence and her love of animals. Her presence remains deeply felt by her family and friends, and her legacy lives on through the beauty she created and the people she loved.
