Sadhu Singh Khalsa, born September 19, 1947, in Texas City, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, after a courageous journey with pancreatic cancer.
A devoted spiritual practitioner, Sadhu began following the path of Sikhism in 1971 in Houston, Texas, where he also began his lifelong practice of Kundalini Yoga. Over the decades, he served as a painter, herbalist, builder, and entrepreneur, most notably founding Reddy Remedy, a healing business that reflected his passion for natural wellness and spiritual alignment.
Sadhu was married to Mary “Mama Mary” Phillips on February 10, 2015, in Baltimore, Maryland. Their love was deep and enduring. After her passing in 2017, Sadhu continued to honor her memory with great devotion.
He lived for 13 years at the Baltimore ashram before relocating to Española, New Mexico in 2019 to be close to the spiritual community established by Yogi Bhajan. There, he continued his studies in Sikh Dharma, numerology, and herbalism, sharing his wisdom with others through teaching, chanting, and his gentle presence.
Sadhu is survived by a host of dear friends and his extended sangat, including his devoted student and end-of-life caregiver, Shakaya, as well as the many visitors and companions who supported him in his final days.
In his honor, a Memorial Service will take place on Monday June 23rd, at Rivera Family Funeral Home of Espanola, beginning at 1:00pm with cremation to follow. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
