Rosina P. Silva, 93, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, the Feast of Christ the King. She was born on June 30, 1932, in Santa Fe, where she lived her entire life.
During her working years, Rosina held many positions, but she was especially proud of her time with the National Park Service in the Southwest Regional Office, which she often described as the most beautiful place she could have worked.
Rosina was devoted to her family, her Catholic faith, and serving her community through volunteer work with local organizations that supported those in need. She was a member of the Secular Franciscans and held a special devotion to St. Francis of Assisi.
Those who knew Rosina remember her as a kind and loving person who treated everyone she met with dignity and always had a smile to share. Her strength was quiet but unshakeable; she simply was steady and full of faith.
She is survived by her daughter, Carmen Silva; her sister, Cecilia Garcia; sisters-in-law Zenaida Padilla and Yolanda Padilla; several brothers- and sisters-in-law from her late husband’s family; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Rosina was preceded in death by her parents, Reyes Padilla and Clara Montoya Padilla; her loving husband, Rudy Silva; and her siblings Abel Padilla, Maria Boynton (Bill), Pauline Martinez (Alfonzo), Reyes Padilla, Louis Padilla, Gloria Salazar, and Rudy Padilla (Minerva); as well as her brother-in-law Lorenzo Garcia.
