Rosemary Geoffrion Duck November 6, 1933 – August 30, 2026

Rosemary Geoffrion Duck, a longtime resident of Santa Fe and most recently Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Known for her unwavering devotion, quiet strength, and the deep compassion she carried through every chapter of her life, Rosemary leaves behind a legacy built on faith, family, and resilience.

Born in Las Vegas, New Mexico, Rosemary enlisted in the U.S. Navy on January 10, 1953, where she met the love of her life, Gerald (Jerry) Duck, while both were on active duty. Rosemary completed her honorable service on February 8, 1957, and married Jerry on April 27, 1957. Together they shared 68 years of marriage, raising seven children and building a home filled with laughter, discipline, tradition, and unconditional love. Their partnership was marked by loyalty and endurance—through Navy deployments, cross continent moves, raising a large family, and the everyday joys and challenges of life.

Rosemary dedicated her life to her family, ensuring each child felt supported, guided, and deeply loved. Her warmth extended far beyond her immediate family, touching friends, neighbors, and anyone fortunate enough to know her. She was the steady center of the Duck family—its heart, its historian, and its fiercest protector.

Rosemary is survived by her youngest brother, Alfred Geoffrion (Gloria); and her seven children: Cynthia Lucero (Frank), Michael Duck (Jean), Dennis Duck (Cindy), Julie Brito (Ken), David Duck (Michelle), Kenneth Duck (Debbie), and Teresa Tafoya (Lucas). She also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom will forever cherish her stories, her guidance, and her gentle presence.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald (Jerry) Duck; her parents, Melecia and Alfred Geoffrion; and her cherished brothers and sisters: Robert (Bobby) Geoffrion, Louis (Louie) Geoffrion, Arthur (Artie) Geoffrion, Agnes (Angie) Vigil, Irene Aranda, Guadalupe (Pita) Williams, Juliet (Julie) Ludi, and Dolores (Doie) Rael.

A Rosary and Mass to honor Rosemary’s life will be held on Wednesday. September 30, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1301 Osage Avenue, Santa Fe. She will be laid to rest with military honors beside Jerry at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:15, 501 N Guadalupe Street, where they will continue their journey together in eternal peace.

A reception will follow at the church. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Rosemary’s life.
