Rosalie Joan Anderson
November 6, 1932-August 4, 2026
Rosalie Joan Anderson (born Zaffiro) of Santa Fe passed away on August 4, 2026 at the age of 93. “Sempre Famiglia”, Always Family, a phrase that she loved, expresses her devotion to her husband of 52 years Andy, daughter Amy Miller, and her grandsons Greely and Blaise. She is preceded in death by her parents, Grace and Michael Zaffiro, husband Everett “Andy” Anderson, brothers Bobby Zaffiro, John Michael Zaffiro, and Sebastian Zaffiro, and her sisters Josephine Perleberg and Anna Struzik. She is survived by Amy, Greely and Blaise Miller of Santa Fe, beloved siblings Sally Price (Jerry) and Blaise “Bill” Zaffiro (Barb), her godson Chris Perleberg(Greta), brother-in-law Jim Anderson (Maureen) and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rosalie was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Rosalie worked for years as a medical transcriptionist. Over the years, she lived in Plano, Texas, Mechanicsville, Virginia, and Charlotte, North Carolina, before she and her husband Andy moved to Santa Fe to be close to Amy and their grandsons. Rosalie and Andy were active in the Santa Maria de la Paz community for many years before health issues limited their involvement outside the home. Rosalie enjoyed reading, playing cards, Scrabble, Jeopardy and her nightly glass of red wine.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Legacy at Santa Fe, who cared for Rosalie with dignity and respect, especially Iris, Aaron and Linda. Thanks also to Enchanted Sky Hospice, especially Yvonne. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to May Center for Learning, 32 Puesta del Sol, Santa Fe, NM 87508.
A memorial will be held at Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Church on Friday, September 4. The mass will be followed by burial at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
