Listen to Obituary

Ronald (Christopher) Adrian Roybal Jr., better known as “RC,” a beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 11, 2025, at the age of 20, after a long, hard fight with Ewing Sarcoma Cancer.

RC was preceded in death by his uncle, Christopher Roybal. He is survived by his grandparents, Sammy and Patsy Roybal; father, Ronnie Roybal Sr. (Angela Soliz and step-sister Angel Soliz); his mother, Christina Sandoval; siblings, Michael Roybal, Adrianna Roybal (Bryan Vigil), and Ayanna Madrid; nephew and niece, Azariah and Alayah; aunt, Karmella Conway; cousins, Oceana and Lukas Conway; along with many extended family members and friends who loved and cared for him deeply.

At an early age, RC developed his first true love: basketball. Basketball was more than a sport to him—it was a way to express himself, escape life’s troubles, and build camaraderie with everyone on and off the court. With his advanced skill level, RC was able to play basketball throughout the country, including competing in the Jr. NBA. He had the honor of playing basketball for St. Michael’s High School before transferring to Santa Fe High School, where he unfortunately had to stop playing the sport he loved to focus on his health.

RC was best known for his infectious smile, laughter, silly sense of humor, and his ability to remain positive no matter the situation. He had deep passions for his faith, basketball, fast cars, and Fusion Tacos—if RC ever needed to be found, that’s where you would find him enjoying his favorite asada tacos. He loved being at the racetrack, whether he was there supporting his dad during a race or showing off his own car. RC took extraordinary pride in keeping his car clean and always had it “show ready.” He won several car contests, including one at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta in 2024. He was a member of a few local car clubs and proudly served as the former President of Mopar Street Kings (MSK), a role he cherished deeply.

Despite years of illness and multiple treatments, RC displayed incredible strength, love, kindness, resilience, and bravery throughout his five-year battle with cancer. His courage and ability to live life fully were far beyond anyone his age. RC carried his struggles quietly, but his smile never failed to shine, warming every room and every heart he entered.

Serving as pallbearers are; Azariah Romero, Bryan Vigil, Lukas Conway, Carlos “Berto” Gallegos, Julian Arras, Santi Montoya, Mikey Mora, and Jaylen Lovato. Honorary pallbearers are Marcos Gonzales and all members of his associated car clubs.
