Robert Greeney

ROBERT D. GREENEY DIES IN SANTA FE Robert Dennis Greeney, aka Clearwater, of Santa Fe, NM passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Christus Saint Vincent Hospital after a long illness. Robert was 74 years of age. Born in Rome, New York on August 21, 1941, he was the son of the late Harrison M. Greeney and Teresa A. Soriano. In 1965, he married Gail Dougherty of Collingswood, New Jersey. Robert was a graduate of Albany University, Albany, NY and taught 6th grade in Washington County, NY, before settling in Woodstock, NY. There he practiced and studied art. Eventually, Robert moved West to Arizona and New Mexico and dedicated his life to the native American culture. He was a trusted and revered member of the Shamanic Community. Robert was predeceased by his parents and by three brothers: C. Lewis and John I. Greeney and James W. Reed; and two sisters: Cynthia A. Morgan and Faith E. Hort. He is survived by two daughters, Allyson and Melissa Greeney, as well as four sisters, Mary V. Bonney , Esther I. Decker, Carol J. Bingley, and Linda J. Losurdo, and two brothers: Keith F., and Ronald M. Greeney, and by Aleta Drumm, a dear friend. His remains will be buried in the Vermillion Cemetery, New Haven, NY. A special Pipe Ceremony will held to honor Robert's passing at the Hyde Memorial State Park, 740 Hyde Park Road, Santa Fe, NM. The date and time is Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Sundown.
