Robert Russel
Weiss II
1964 – April 2, 2026
Robert Russell Weiss II was born in 1964 in Los Angeles, California, to Jackie and Robert Weiss. He attended North Hollywood High School and went on to build a career in information technology. A former member of the band The Commoners, music remained a lifelong passion, and he was a prolific songwriter and musician throughout his life.
Rob’s friends often described him as a genius — someone with a sharp, inquisitive mind and a gift for immersing himself in whatever captured his interest. Whether it was online college courses, the stock market, current events, or finding the smartest way to maximize a credit card rewards program, he approached life with curiosity, humor and enthusiasm..
He was a kind and loyal friend, easy to be around, and always good for a memorable conversation. He loved animals, and they loved him right back. Rob was also an adventurer with a deep love for New Mexico. A former colleague from his courthouse days once said of him, “He lived more in a day than many do in a lifetime.” His many friends would agree. He will be deeply missed.
A potluck memorial will be held May 2nd at 4pm on Francis Road in El Prado. Please follow the signs.
