Robert (Bobby) Sisneros

February 23, 1943 — May 29, 2025

Our brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend, Robert (Bobby) Sisneros, born February 23, 1943, passed away on May 29, 2025. Bobby battled Parkinsons for many years. He never complained and accepted each day with such grace and courage. A quiet man who was a true free thinker and nonconformist. There was nothing that Bobby enjoyed more than reading different viewpoints from all sides of the political spectrum, then digesting all the information, and forming his own opinion. Sometimes, when a particular viewpoint was too extreme, Bobby would find himself shaking his head in disbelief. Bobby had the philosophy that it was much better to skip Mass on Sunday and be good the remainder of the week, than to attend such a religious service, but be mean to others the rest of the time.

He had deep respect for all children and considered them the only true and pure people of the world. He took great joy in financially sponsoring such children from all needy countries and gave generously to different charities in the United States. The best times of his life were the 25 years he spent as an educator in the wonderful village of Pecos. There was nothing Bobby loved more than being in the classroom with his beloved little rascals. Bobby was always quick to add that he hated meetings and workshops with passion.

Bobby adored all his nieces and nephews without condition, equally, and as individuals. Uncle Bob took great satisfaction in watching them grow up as fine men and women.

He was grateful for his education at Alvord Elementary, St. Michael’s High School, The College of Santa Fe, Adam’s State College and the University of New Mexico.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Laura Jaramillo Sisneros and Amadeo Sisneros; his brothers, Richard, Joe, and Tony. He is survived by his brother, Arturo (Judy); sister, Geraldine; sisters-in-law, Emelda, Genevieve, and Flo; many, many cousins, nieces and nephews; and special friend, Candace.

It would be appreciated if you can think of some positive memory about Bobby, but if you can’t that’s fine too.

In being consistent with his very private nature, Bobby had requested that no funeral service be held for him.

The family would like to thank David Fresquez from Home Companion Care – Caresource. Especially his wonderful caregivers who were with Robert for many years. Thank you to German Hernandez, Cisco Barbero, Ken Parsons and his long-time nurse, Tanya Sapcutt. A special thank you to Candace Leffler for all her support and kindness.
