Richard Rodriguez

Richard Ramon Rodriguez age 54, was born on December 31, 1961 in Santa Fe, New Mexico and passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016 surrounded by family. Richard will be remembered as a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He worked at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Maria’s Restaurant, El Nido Restaurant and retired from the New Mexico State Highway Department as a carpenter. Richard was preceded in death by his infant daughter Gloria, maternal grandparents Ernesto and Ramona Ortiz of Santa Fe, paternal grandparents Luciano and Pablita Rodriguez of Santa Fe. He is survived by his mother Genevieve Reyes, father Ramon Rodriguez and wife Amada, two sons Jesse Ray (Carolina), Isaac (Samantha), granddaughter Adrianna, three sisters Bernadette Caraveo and husband Oscar, Rosalie Cardenas and husband Eloy, Theresa Rodriguez, four brothers Martin Rodriguez (Terry), Benjamin Rodriguez and wife Maria, Roberto Rodriguez, James Rodriguez and close nephew Diego Rodriguez and wife Andrea. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and loved ones he held close to his heart. Richard loved carpentry, the outdoors, fixing up old cars, fishing, hunting, pulling pranks and spending time with family. Services for Richard will be held Saturday, December 31st at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 100 Church Street, Santa Cruz, New Mexico 87567. Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. with memorial mass following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Santa Cruz Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 18996 US-285, Espanola, New Mexico 87532 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Espanola Presbyterian Hospital Physicians and nurses and the staff at Compassus Hospice care for their compassion and supportive care given to Richard.
