Raul M. Alvarez

Raul M. Alvarez passed away in the early morning hours of January 22, 2026, with his loving family beside him. He was 87 years old. Born in Roswell, New Mexico he moved early in his adult life to Santa Fe, New Mexico which became his home.

Raul was a husband, a father, a businessman, and the steady center of his family. He was a man people depended on. His presence was constant, reliable, and grounding.

To those who knew him, Raul was generous, intelligent, and hardworking. His home was always open. There was always something to eat and always time to talk. People came and went. He took pride in how he carried himself. A cigarette on his lip and a vest on his shoulders, his clothes pressed, his hair neat, and his truck always washed and looking sharp, he was unmistakably himself.

Family came first. Raul was preceded in death by his wife, Isabel Alvarez, who passed away seventeen years before him. Despite his success and charm, his devotion to her was quiet and enduring, and he carried her memory with dignity and loyalty to the end of his days.

He is survived by his children, Linda Martinez, Manuel Alvarez, Raul Alvarez Jr., and Joe Alvarez, his sisters Vita Marquez and Mary De Los Santos and numerous family members. He is also remembered by his longtime employee Agostin Solis, whose years beside him reflected Raul’s loyalty and trust in those who worked with him. Raul was shaped by those who came before him and supported countless others quietly, often without recognition, simply because he believed it was the right thing to do.

Raul believed deeply in family and in opportunity. He stood by his people, especially when it was hard. He did not speak often about what he gave, but many lives were steadied by his help. He showed love through action, consistency, and presence.

What will be missed most is his stability. The sense that things were handled. The calm assurance that someone capable and dependable was there.

Raul Alvarez was a classic man. It is how those who knew him will remember him.
