Ralph Pacheco, affectionately known as Poppy passed away on September 7, 2015. He was born in Santa Fe, NM on September 3, 1927 to Andres and Rafelita Pacheco. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Corps. He retired from the US Postal Service in 1992. He was a parishioner of St Francis Cathedral Basilica where he served as a Eucharistic minister for 40 years. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge BOPE #460. Ralphs Catholic faith and love for his family were first and foremost in his life. He loved to work with his hands and could fix anything. He developed an artistic side and he began to draw and work with wood, carving bultos and images of his favorite things in life. He enjoyed working outdoors, planting fruit trees and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Laurie, brothers and sisters, Manuel, Josie, Paul, Rose, Andy, Fred, Mike and Jimmy.
He is survived by his wife, Florence, son Ralph David Pacheco, daughter and son in law, Teena and Mark Christopher; granddaughter, Kelli Marie Christopher, brother, Ricardo and wife Toni, Florences children and grandchildren, Steve and Susie Sandoval, Melissa, Carl and Brooke; Ralph and Gina Dotson, Gino; Wayne and Lisa Dotson, Jared, Brittany and Sasha and many friends and relatives to numerous to mention.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 5pm at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, followed by a Rosary at 6pm. Funeral Mass will be Monday, September 14, 2015 at 10am at St. Francis Cathedral Basilica with interment at the National Cemetery at 11:15am.
Pallbearers will be: Andrew Sanchez, Anthony Pacheco, Vernon Sanchez, Ralph Dotson, Steve Sandoval, and Carl Sandoval.
