Petronila Ortiz

Petronila Ortiz, age 98 of Chimayo passed away peacefully on August 22, 2006 in Espanola. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Biterbo Martinez and Alex Ortiz; her son, Gilbert Martinez; and her parents: Antonio and Seferina Martinez. May their souls rest in peace. She is survived by her son, Filimon Martinez of Leadville, CO.; daughter, Marlene Mascarenaz and her husband Narciso of Albuquerque; and her son, Lawrence Martinez of Chimayo, as well as many other family members. Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Thursday August 24, at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary in Espanola, the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo with Fr. Julio officiating. Burial will follow at the Potrero Cemetery in Chimayo with the following serving as pallbearers: Paul and Joseph Mascareñaz, Matthew Martinez, Manuel Montoya, Matthew Romero and Benjie Montoya.
