Norma Jean Jones died peacefully on December 20, the eve of Winter Solstice. She was an original, an extraordinary artist, a maker of objects and world lover forever curious and full of wonder. She will be missed by her sisters, Pat Heida, Betty Dominquez, Mary Jones and brothers Michael Battista and James Jones and her many, many friends. She moved to Santa Fe from Fullerton, CA in 1979 and lived at the Kagyu Shenpen Kunchab Dharma Center for over 30 years. She was a devoted student of Kalu Rinpoche and also studied with Lama Dorje, Lama Mingma and many visiting teachers at the Center. She came to the Center to work on the stupa and never left. She was beekeeper, loved her friends, her cats, the land and culture of New Mexico and the pueblos. Her life was like a magnificent treasure hunt and our world was made richer by her presence. Donations can be made in her honor to KSK, 3777 KSK Lane, Santa Fe, 87507.
