Myra Smith, 54, of Taos, New Mexico passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 21, 2024.  Myra was a caring, loving and giving person who loved her family and friends and never hesitated to help any one of them.  She loved being with her family and spending time with those she held close to her heart.  She loved making her tamales and cheesecakes to raise money for anybody in need, local fundraisers and local biker runs.  She loved participating with her family and friends in the annual cancer walk. She never left without saying, “I LOVE YOU”.

Myra is preceded in death by her Beloved Daddy, Loren Anaya Jr.; grandparents, Loren & Soledad Anaya,  grandparents, James & Consuelo Duran; aunties, Becky Lucero, Loretta & Henrietta Anaya; and uncles, Leo Anaya & Mark Kyllo. 

Myra is survived by her husband, Keith Smith; mother, Evelyn Anaya; children; James (Jess), Janice, Joshua, Robbie, Andrew and Brian; grandchildren, Estrella, Santiago, Leo, Ayana, Emalia, Elijah, Zadon, Nervana, Eric, and great-grandson, Elijah Jr; brothers, David, Joaquin (Heather) and Roberto (Victoria) Anaya. Myra had numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins from the Anaya and Duran families.

Myra had countless friends that she considered family, and numerous honorary nieces and nephews that she held close to her heart.

Rosary will be recited on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with reception to follow at the Parish Hall.
