Monica Lopez

Monica Lopez born May 4, 1924. Our beloved mother started her journey on March 7, 2015. She was preceded by her husband John. Her parents Perfecitia & Abel Ortega, her sisters Amalia (Joe Rodriguez), Susie (Marcos Jiron), her brothers: Cirilio (Margie), Eustaquio & Abel. She is survived by her children: Rose (Pat Brown), John (Arlene), Francisco (Stacy), Danny, sister-in-law Hiroko Ortega, grandchildren Aji (Morey Ortega), Abel, Joseph, Frankie, Libby (Rob), Elias. Great Granddaughter Asia. Many cousins, nieces, nephews. She grew up in Glorieta Mesa and loved to ride her horse, turkey hunting and walked 3 miles to school. She worked at La Fonda where she met her husband. She will be greatly missed by her family. Mom was the best Mom, Grandmother & Aunt. We would like to thank Dr. Gloria Ruiz, Coming Home Connection & Heritage Hospice for taking great care of our mother. The service will be at St. Francis Cathedral on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 9am Rosary, 10am Funeral, 12:30pm Interment at National Cemetery & reception to follow.
