Melinda Ortega, 100, of Santa Fe, NM passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2015. She was born on May 1, 1914 in Pecos, NM to Isabella Portillo and Margarito Vigil. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gavino Ortega, children, Tobias J. Ortega, Angie S. Ortiz, and Fidel P. Ortega, siblings, Eva Ortiz (Valentino), Ruby Medina, Corine Patterson Moreno (Gabe), Chris Vigil, Atilano Vigil, sisters in law, Armidia Vigil, Aurelia Vigil, She is survived by her children: Joe M. Ortega (Tessie) Maria M. Abeyta (Bobby), Francisco M. Ortega, Martin P. Ortega, 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, brothers, Margarito Vigil, Orlando Vigil, Alfonso Vigil, Ray S. Vigil, son in law, Frank Ortiz, sisters in law, Stella Vigil, Jenny Vigil, brother in law, Joe Medina, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 10 am with a Mass following at 11 am at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Burial will take place at a later date.
