Mary Rose Gallegos, affectionately known as Rose, passed away unexpectedly on May 13, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the age of 79. Born on April 8, 1946, in El Pueblo, New Mexico, she was the beloved daughter of Juan and Elvira Gutierrez. She will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Rose enjoyed a fulfilling career as an accountant and caregiver, roles she embraced with passion and dedication. After her retirement, she cherished the moments spent with her family and friends during her favorite pastimes, which included playing bingo and the slot machines at casinos, and visiting and sharing meals with her family and friends. One of her greatest joys was fun-filled days with her granddaughter, Marrisa Fayth, caregiving for her grandson, Andrew James, and loving her kitty, Prince.

Her personality shone brightly through her loving, nurturing spirit. Rose’s heart overflowed with kindness and generosity; she was a devout Catholic whose faith guided her life. With a strong and courageous demeanor, she took immense pride in caring for her family, ensuring that her home was a haven filled with faith and love.

Rose's legacy of love is carried on by her children: Judy (James), Denise (Alfonso), and Kenny (Angela). She was the proud grandmother to Marrisa Fayth, Amanda, Nickolas, Anthony, and Kailya, and great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren. Her sisters include Eleanor and Cathy, along with many nieces and nephews — Michele, Johnny, Diana, Derek, TJ, Jerek, Breanna, Arlene, and Alyssa, and many cousins and friends.

Rose’s passing has left an irreplaceable void. She was preceded in death by her beloved Grandson, Andrew James Salazar, and her cherished family members including her Mother Elvira Gutierrez, Father Juan Gutierrez, Brother Monico Medardo Gutierrez, and Nephew Joseph Gutierrez. They were met with her warm embrace in heaven as she took her last breath after reciting the final Hail Mary of the rosary with her family by her side.

Pallbearers include Denise Montoya, Alfonso Montoya, James Salazar, Marrisa Salazar, Kenny Quintana, and Nickolas Quintana. Honorary Pallbearers include Judy Salazar, Derek Trujillo, TJ Woods, Jerek Padilla, and Pratik Bhakta.
