Her husband, Peter Montoya, fondly remembers the countless hours she devoted to connecting with their daughters and grandsons over long telephone conversations, sharing laughter, joy, and the wisdom of her years. This nurturing spirit was a reflection of her caring nature, characterized by her warmth, positivity, and an unwavering commitment to those she loved.

Mary embodied a life lived with purpose, adhering resolutely to her guiding mottos: "all you need is love" and "don't carry anger and hate in your hearts." Her deep-rooted faith profoundly influenced her life. Mary was a proud member of Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Dixon and often found herself drawn to the serene sanctuary of Santuario De Chimayo.
