Marjorie Lee Felser (nee) Mahr, formerly of Baltimore, MD, passed away in Taos, NM, on January 13, 2026. She is survived by her brother, Malcolm D. Mahr (Vero Beach, FL); three children, Andrew J. Felser (Denver, CO), Lawrence D. Felser (Ithaca, NY), and Susanne R. Felser (Taos, NM); three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Marjorie braved the 70s, working in a man’s world until landing at the newly formed Hubble Space Telescope Science Institute in 1981, where she was Assistant to the Director until her retirement. Marjorie’s adventurous spirit brought her back west to settle in Taos in 2000, when all her cousins in Baltimore could not comprehend why she would move across the country at her age. She quickly found new friends and community while volunteering at the TCA, Taos Library, and local Democratic Committee, to name a few, and continued to foster her artistic side with pottery and jewelry classes.

“Taos Mountain” embraced her and kept her happy until the end.
