Mario Ben Valdez

MARIO VALDEZ, 55, passed away peacefully at his Nambe, NM home on March 13, 2021, with the love of his life and his daughter  by his side, following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Castelita Valdez; brother, Benny J. Valdez; brother-in-law, Alex Romero; nephews, Steve Garcia and Alex Romero, Jr; and grandparents, Willie and Eliza Apodaca and Jose Inez and Esquipula Valdez.  Mario is survived by his love of his life for 29 years, Virginia, and his daughter, Maria; his Father,  Bernardino Valdez; brothers, Jose (fiancée Leslie), Gilbert (Patsy), Esquepula James (wife Viola); his mother-in-law, Josephine Vega; sisters-in-law Lorraine Romero, Christina Garcia; brothers-in-law, Chris (Peggy), Simon  Romero, Stephen Garcia and many loving nieces and nephews. Mario enjoyed his time with his family, woodworking, camping, and helping everyone.  He was a big Low Rider enthusiast and had just finished working on his own Low Rider, a 64 Impala. 

A Rosary will be recited at 10:40 am Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at  Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe en la Valle de Pojoaque, with celebration of the mass at 11:00 am, with Father Frank Pretto as celebrant.  Interment will follow at the Sacred Heart Church Cemetery at Nambe.  Honorary Pallbearers will include James, Cruz, and Santos Valdez
