Mario Jack Loehrer, a beloved family man and revered restaurant owner, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 10, 2025, at the age of 92. Born in Lamone, Switzerland 1933, Mario's journey through life was enriched by his deep faith in Christ and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones.
Mario served in both the Swiss Army and the United States Army during the Korean War.
Mario attended Cornell University, where he honed his skills in hotel and restaurant management. He then moved to St. Petersburg and eventually took over ownership of ‘Rollande and Pierre’ from is Aunt and Uncle.
In 1984, Mario married the love of his life, Judith, after meeting her in St. Petersburg, Florida. They spent 41 cherished years together. His daughter, Heidi Loehrer, and grandson, Elijah, were the lights of his life, embodying his pride and joy.
Mario loved golf, singing in Italian, El Cap burgers and pretty much everyone he met. His family and friends describe him as someone who brought joy wherever he went, and whose company was always a privilege.
Surviving Mario are his wife, Judith, his daughter Heidi, and grandson Elijah, as well as three siblings, Roberto, Helena and Antonietta. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emilio and Nina Loehrer, and siblings Emilio and Anita. Each of these losses left a void in his heart, but his sense of family and community would always shine brightly.
Mario leaves behind a legacy not only of culinary achievement but of deep love, laughter, and an everlasting connection to those who knew him. His joyful spirit will continue to inspire and uplift, reminding us all of the treasured moments shared and the kindness that makes life truly beautiful.
