Maria Guadalupe Vigil

It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Maria Guadalupe Vigil announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Monday, April 13, 2026. She left this world peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She had 90 wonderful years on this earth. Our matriarch was known for her kindness, and she filled her home with warmth and her family with unconditional love.

She was a devoted wife to her husband Ramon Pitacio and a devoted mom to her children Mary Anne, Peter (Lupita) Francisco (Suzy), and Veronica. She had 12 grandchildren; Justin, Peter Jr.; Brittany (Daniel); Marlene (Patrick); Eddie; Carolina (Gabriel); Leticia; Manuel; Jordon, Jacob; Frankie, and Amanda and 6 great-grandchildren: Jeremiah; Jordan; Estrella; Monique; Nauvah Lee and Nevaeh whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her loving sister, Connie Archuleta.

She was proceeded in death by her loving parents, Vicente and Victoria Leybay; in-laws Francisco and Eloisa Vigil, brothers: Demetrio and Joe Leyba and sisters Benerita Leyba and Lela Cross whom she loved dearly and numerous nieces, nephews, and many other relatives.

There is a void in our lives and hearts that can only be filled now with her loving memories, the remembrance of her voice and touch. We will honor her memories by taking care of our dad and each other.

Services will be held at Rivera Family Funerals & Cremations of Santa Fe, 417 E. Rodeo Road, Santa Fe, NM 87505 on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 11:00am followed by the burial at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 501 N. Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe, NM. The reception will take place immediately following the burial at the Santa Fe Sherrif’s Posse at 3213 Rodeo Road, Santa Fe, NM 87507.
