MARIA TERESA VIGIL Maria Teresa Vigil, age 53, of Santa Fe, daughter of Vicente and Karla Vigil, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2023, following a 20-year battle with Scleroderma.

She is survived by her son, Jonathan Trejo, brothers Vicente Jr. and Carlos, nieces and nephews, Matthew, Hope, Jennifer, Jonathan D., Angel, Carlos Jr., grandnephew Kaden, grand niece, Eiko, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins. Maria, a kind and thoughtful soul, will be missed and remembered by every life she touched.

A graduate from Saint Michaels High School, she earned her AA degree followed by 31 years of dedicated service with Guadalupe Credit Union in Santa Fe. Maria lived her life with honesty and integrity, beginning her career path as a Teller at Guadalupe Credit Union, steadfastly advancing to become the Chief Human Resources Officer. Maria was a "people-person", and consistently and continuously displayed pride and professionalism in her work. Jonathan, her beloved son, shared periodic adventures with Maria, taking in a diversity of cultures and people, teaching him curiosity about the world around them. Her most treasured memories were of Jonathan.

A 1989 Santa Fe Fiesta Princess, Maria enjoyed painting, yoga, dancing, and traveling with her family. She earned her black belt in Tae Kwon Do and modeled for Miller's outpost. Maria was a lifelong Catholic and served as an Eucharistic Minister at Santa Maria de La Paz Church in Santa Fe. Maria had incredible patience, a radiant smile, and positive energy in all she did. She always made time for others and connected with everyone she met. She always looked for the best in others and continually gave the best of herself. Modeling her life after Christ, Maria leaves a legacy of service to others and acts of love.

She is greatly missed. Christ's light perpetually shines upon her. Memorial and funeral services are pending.
