Es con profundo pesar que anunciamos el fallecimiento de Maria Ines Nieves-Cazares, quien partió de este mundo de manera pacífica en su hogar en Hernandez, Nuevo México, el 9 de septiembre de 2025. Nacida el 8 de noviembre de 1940 en Durango, México, Maria Ines vivió una vida dedicada a su familia y a las pequeñas cosas que le brindaban alegría.

Maria Ines fue una mujer incansable, siempre ocupada como una hormiguita, corriendo de aquí para allá. Aunque no era fanática de las grandes multitudes, encontraba su mayor felicidad en las reuniones íntimas rodeada de sus seres queridos. Como ama de casa y madre ejemplar, su pasión por la cocina la hizo famosa por sus deliciosos platillos, especialmente su famoso chile rojo que todos esperaban con ansias.

Durante sus 65 años de matrimonio con su amado esposo, Aurelio Cazares-Medina, compartieron una vida llena de amor y complicidad. Juntos, construyeron un hogar donde la familia era lo más importante. Su legado continúa a través de sus hijos: Rosa E. Cazares, Oralia Cazares, Rudolfo Cazares, Arnulfo Cazares, Leopoldo Cazares y Jesús T. Cazares, quienes siempre la recordarán con cariño y admiración.

Además de su entrega a la familia, Maria Ines se destacaba por su amor a la tecnología moderna; disfrutaba hablar por teléfono y pasar tiempo viendo videos en YouTube, desde noticias hasta música mexicana, y siempre estaba lista para salir de compras. Su color favorito, el rojo, reflejaba su vibrante personalidad.

Maria Ines también fue una orgullosa abuela, criando a sus tres nietos, Aide V. Cazares, Genesis Cazares y Christian G. Cazares, a quienes cariñosamente llamaba sus "Hijos". Ellos fueron la luz de su vida, y su amor por ellos es un testimonio del enorme corazón que poseía.

Maria Ines fue precedida en la muerte por su querido esposo, Aurelio Cazares; así como por sus abuelos, Manuel y Josefita Nieves; y sus hermanos, Jesús Nieves, Socorro Nieves y Erlinda Nieves. Su partida deja un vacío inmenso en la vida de aquellos que tuvieron la fortuna de conocerla y amarla.

Recordaremos a Maria Ines Nieves-Cazares no solo por su calidez y dedicación, sino también por la luz que trajo a nuestras vidas. Su espíritu vivirá en cada pequeño instante compartido, en cada platillo cocinado con amor y en cada recuerdo atesorado. Que descanse en paz.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Maria Ines Nieves-Cazares, who left this world peacefully at her home in Hernandez, New Mexico, on September 9, 2025. Born on November 8, 1940, in Durango, Mexico, Maria Ines lived a life devoted to her family and the little things that brought her joy.

Maria Ines was tireless, always busy like a little ant, running here and there. Although she was not fond of large crowds, she found her greatest happiness in intimate gatherings surrounded by her loved ones. As a homemaker and devoted mother, her passion for cooking made her famous for her delicious dishes—especially her beloved red chile, which everyone eagerly anticipated.

During her 65 years of marriage to her beloved husband, Aurelio Cazares-Medina, they shared a life full of love and companionship. Together, they built a home where family was always the priority. Her legacy continues through her children: Rosa E. Cazares, Oralia Cazares, Rudolfo Cazares, Arnulfo Cazares, Leopoldo Cazares, and Jesús T. Cazares, who will always remember her with love and admiration.

In addition to her devotion to her family, Maria Ines had a fondness for modern technology; she enjoyed talking on the phone and spending time watching YouTube videos—from news to Mexican music—and was always ready to go shopping. Her favorite color, red, reflected her vibrant personality.

Maria Ines was also a proud grandmother, raising her three grandchildren, Aide V. Cazares, Genesis Cazares, and Christian G. Cazares, whom she lovingly called her “Hijos.” They were the light of her life, and her love for them is a testament to the enormous heart she had.

Maria Ines was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Aurelio Cazares; her grandparents, Manuel and Josefita Nieves; and her siblings, Jesús Nieves, Socorro Nieves, and Erlinda Nieves. Her departure leaves an immense void in the lives of those who had the fortune to know and love her.

We will remember Maria Ines Nieves-Cazares not only for her warmth and devotion but also for the light she brought into our lives. Her spirit will live on in every small moment shared, in every meal cooked with love, and in every treasured memory. May she rest in peace.
