Marcus Earl Scott

Santa Fe resident Marc Scott (67) passed away in his home suddenly on July 25, 2025. A big man with a generous heart and a sense of humor as dry as the New Mexico desert, Marc embraced life with his adored wife of nearly 30 years, Susan Crespi. Whether it was puttering in the garden, cooking amazing meals at home, railing against the current administration, or learning to play one of his dozen harmonicas, Marc was beginning to enjoy a slower pace after decades as a local plumbing contractor. He is remembered with great affection by his legions of friends, co-workers, neighbors, and extended family as a guy who would drop everything to lend you a hand, comfort you during tough times, or call to cheer you up. He enjoyed a good oyster, deep-sea fishing with buddies, all manner of the arts, and camping with his wife and dog Scruffy on their nearby mountain property. In addition to his wife, he shared his heart with son Sebastian, daughter Zoe, granddaughter Maddie, his sister, two brothers, and nieces and nephews. All of those who loved him wonder how to fill the giant space he left behind. He will be deeply missed. A celebration of Marc’s life will be planned for some time in the future.
