Luis Lares-Caballero, born on June 21, 1959, passed away on September 11, 2026.
Luis will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, a hardworking businessman, and a man whose presence left a lasting impression on those around him. He was a leader by nature—firm and strict when he needed to be, yet soft-hearted beneath that strong exterior. In his own way, he showed deep love to the people in his life. He was generous, giving to others, and he faced life as a fighter in every sense.
Luis was known in Santa Fe for his work as a chef through his own food truck, where local patrons enjoyed his culinary masterpieces. His food truck burrito was the first of its kind on Airport Road, and through that work he built not only a business, but also a place of familiarity and connection for the community he served. His dedication, skill, and pride in what he created were evident to all who knew his work.
Beyond his work, Luis found joy in spending time with the ones close to him. Those moments of togetherness reflected what mattered most to him: family, loyalty, and the bonds he shared with those he loved.
Luis leaves behind a memory of strength, perseverance, and care. He will be remembered for the way he led, for the love he carried beneath his toughness, and for the generosity he extended to others. His life touched family, friends, and the community around him, and his absence will be deeply felt.
