Lourdes Martinez

Lourdes Martinez, 95, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, passed away on January 19th, 2025 at home surrounded by beloved family and friends. Lourdes was born on August 23, 1929, to Climaco Roybal and Apolonia Romero in Santa Fe. She is preceded in death by her husband, Sgt. Benjamin Martinez, siblings Lorenza, Tony, Benjamin, and Salomon, sons “Little Abel,” Gilbert, David, and Abel. She is survived by her children Veronica Vigil (Danny), Dolores “D” Guerra, Susan Martinez (Maddie), Eva Smith (Randy), and Felix Martinez (Elaine), and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known lovingly as “Mamá”, she is remembered for her quick-witted sense of humor, glamorous style, loud whistle, signature red hair, and love of dancing.

Her Celebration of Life will be on Tuesday, February 11th, 2025 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church (1107 Cristo Rey St. Santa Fe, NM 87501)

 The viewing will be from 9:30 -10:30 a.m.

 Rosary from 10:30 - 11:00 am

 Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.

The interment will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
