Leroy "Skip" Donald Romero

Leroy "Skip" Romero of Santa Fe left this earth unexpectedly surrounded by his family on February 2, 2026. Leroy was born on February 11, 1942 in Santa Fe, NM to Rose and Gilbert Romero. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather "Papa", brother, uncle, and dear friend to many.

Skip was an avid bowler, hunter, and fisherman. He loved to spend time with his family and friends laughing, joking, and talking about the good old days. Most of all he loved his children and grandchildren to no end. He was proud to talk about each and everyone of them to anyone he came across.

Skip is preceded in death by the love of his life his wife Angela Romero; his parents Rose and Gilbert; his sister Geraldine; his brothers John, Ronald (Ron), and George.

He is survived by his five children Lorann, Debra (John), Rhonda, Leroy, and Levi (Soña); grandchildren Dominic, Jazmine, Tommy, Angel, Charles, Dion, Robert (Mariah), Liberty, Matthew (Aubrey); great grandchildren Alize. Hazel, Junior, Roman, Ethan, and Arie. Brothers Samuel, and Julian (Ginger). Sisters Perla (John), and Patricia; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was a huge presence in our lives and will be extremely missed by all! Heaven has gained an amazing angel.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday February 20th, 2026 from 5pm to 7pm at Rivera Funeral Home in Santa Fe, NM.
