Leroy Padilla, 57, of Ilfeld, New Mexico, passed away unexpectedly at his home on October 12, 2026. He was born on June 25, 1969, in Las Vegas, New Mexico.

Leroy was a happy, hardworking, and fiercely loyal man whose greatest pride and deepest love were always centered on his family. He had a caring heart and a warmth that made the people around him feel loved. His family was his greatest accomplishment, and he dedicated his life to the people who meant the most to him. Those who knew Leroy will remember his loyalty, his loving nature, and the special place he held in the hearts of those closest to him.

Throughout his life, Leroy took pride in his work and in the things he could build with his own hands. He helped build experiential rope courses and worked in the wood business, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and skill. Outside of work, he found happiness in the outdoors and freedom on the open road. He loved going on motorcycle runs, traveling internationally, fishing, and picking piñon. Whether riding his Harley-Davidson, exploring new places, or enjoying time outside, Leroy embraced the adventures and experiences that brought him happiness.

Above all, Leroy treasured his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Christine Padilla, and his family: Phillip Quintana, Robert Aragon, Erica Hernandez (Michael), Jolynn Gallegos (Josh), and Rayanna Quintana (Christopher). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Destiny, Kyla, Isabella, Christian, Joshy, Jax, Hanna, Mikayla, and CJ. Along with many nieces and nephews and extended family. Each of whom brought love, happiness, and meaning to his life.

Leroy is also survived by his father, Isidro Padilla; his mother, Josephine “Josie” Padilla. He leaves behind his sisters, MaryEllen Trujillo and Ray, Lorriane Sedillo and Matt, and Laurie Christopherson and Dan, as well as his sister-in-law, Susan Quintana and Danny, sister in law Andrea Lucero and Pat, brother in law Kenny Lucero. The love and bonds he shared with his family were an important part of who he was, and each will carry his memory forward in their own special way.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy Padilla and Christoval Benavidez. His father-in-law, Remijio Quintana; and his mother-in-law, Eduvigen Quintana. Along with several uncles.

Leroy’s life was a testament to hard work, loyalty, adventure, and, above all, love for his family. Though his passing leaves an unimaginable emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him, the memories he created and the love he gave will remain forever. He will be deeply missed in the everyday moments, on the open road, during family gatherings, and in every story shared by those fortunate enough to have known him.

As the sun sets and the open road stretches into the distance, may Leroy’s spirit ride on in the hearts of his family and friends. His journey here may have ended, but his love, his legacy, and the memories he leaves behind will never fade.

Forever loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
