Langdon Philip "Skip" McAninch

Langdon Philip “Skip” McAninch, Jr, age 95, of Santa Fe, NM, passed away at home on June 12, 2025. He was born November 23, 1929, in Washington, D.C. ‍

Skip, as he was better known by family and friends, was preceded in death by his parents Langdon McAninch, Sr. and Alfrieda Seeger McAninch, and sister Barbara Ganger.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Janice, son Langdon and his wife Vicky, grandson Michael McAninch, sister-in-law Guadalupe McAninch, niece Barbara Elms Ganger, nephew Michael Theard and his wife JeriLynn.

Skip studied at the Graduate Electronic Command School at Ft. Monmouth, received an Associate Degree at the College of the Sequoias, and a B.S. Degree in Industrial Technology. He had an illustrious career in field engineering, manufacturing and teaching including 15 years as Senior Engineering Writer, and was a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Skip was a Korean war veteran serving in the U.S Army 1949-1952 earning the Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Camp Stars, the Combat Infantry Badge, and the Purple Heart.

‍He had a great love of sailing (where he met his lovely wife Janice), photography, astronomy, art, music, and model building. Skip and Janice lived in California, Arizona and Florida before moving to Santa Fe, and are members of Holy Faith Church.

A church memorial service will be held at Holy Faith Church in Santa Fe at 11:00am, Tuesday, July 1, followed by a reception in the church social hall. Military Funeral Services will then be conducted at 1:00pm at National Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
