Kenny Vigil, born on May 14, 1961, in Belen, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, in Albuquerque. A dedicated member of the Los Alamos National Labs and the Pueblo of Tesuque, Kenny's professional life reflected his commitment to excellence and integrity. He was a proud high school graduate who took immense pride in his work and the community he served.
Kenny was known for his great sense of humor combined with a caring, loving, and kind nature. He had an unwavering willingness to help others, always ready to lend a hand or share his time generously. A devoted family man, he cherished every moment spent with his beloved family. His passion for life extended beyond family to his interests in motorcycles and golfing, pursuits that brought him great joy and relaxation.
He is preceeded in death by his parents Joe & Vivianita Vigil and JJ his beloved fur baby.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Gail Vigil, whom he spent 25 wonderful years with, and their cherished fur baby, Nala. His sister, Renea Rodriguez, and her partner Joe Anchando, along with his sister Barbara Serma, continue to hold his memory dear. His niece, Melonie Porter husband Nathaniel , along with their children, Aleena and Kassius Porter, also carry forward his legacy of love and kindness. Additionally, his in-laws, Leroy and Linda Aragon, and Reverend Aaron Aragon, supporting & loving family. He is also remembered fondly by Roy, Holly, Celine, Amaryss, and Josiah Sandoval, as well as Manuel, Ashley, Madeline, Kaylee, and Mykah Lopez, among many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Kenny’s life and spirit will be celebrated at a Celebration of Life service on August 23, 2025, at Freeedom Church, located in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The service will begin at 10:00 AM and conclude at noon, allowing family and friends to reminisce about the remarkable life he lived.
In his words, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith," a profound sentiment from 2 Timothy 4:7 that encapsulates Kenny's resilient spirit and the mark he left on all who knew him. He will be dearly missed but remembered fondly in the hearts of many. Kenny Vigil's legacy of kindness, humor, and unwavering support will continue to inspire those who loved him.
