Kathy Montoya

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kathy Montoya, a beloved mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and friend, who departed this life on October 29, 2025 after a courageous journey marked by resilience and quiet strength.

Kathy faced life's challenges with unwavering bravery that touched everyone around her. Her wit and sense of humor left an indelible mark on those who knew her. Whether through a thoughtful gesture, a shared laugh, or a quiet moment of understanding, Kathy made others feel seen and loved.

She found joy in the simple things and her presence brought comfort and light even in the darkest times. Though she carried pain for many years, she did so with dignity and a deep love for those closest to her.

Kathy is now at peace, free from pain and suffering, and surrounded by the love that endures beyond this life. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is survived by her parents Louie and Frances Montoya, her daughter Amberly (Fernando), her granddaughter Aalyviah Leyva, her sisters Liz (Leroy), Elaine (Joe), Johanna (Ralph) her brother Thomas. Nieces and nephews Amanda, Ashley, and Angelo, Jasmine and Jaeden; great nieces and nephews Jordan, Addison, Ethan, Paisley, Alara, and Malakai and many special friends and loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy with love and remembrance.

Kathy is preceded in death by her father Francis Montoya, her maternal grandmother Ramona Trujillo, her aunt Helen Roybal and many other family members and friends.
