Kathryn Raveling, born on July 25, 1952, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, after a long and courageous 15-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was 73 years old.
Kathryn devoted over 25 years of her professional life to serving as the Finance Director for the city of Santa Fe, where she made significant contributions to the community she cherished. In addition to her role as Finance Director, she also served on the Board of Directors for the South Side of Santa Fe Development, Terre Conteta, demonstrating her commitment to the development and enhancement of her beloved city.
Educationally, Kathryn was well-prepared for her esteemed career. She earned her bachelor's degree from the College of Santa Fe and furthered her education with a master's degree from the University of Phoenix, reflecting her dedication to lifelong learning and professional growth.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kathryn was a loving matriarch, known for her role in hosting family gatherings and holidays. She took immense joy in organizing the two large Armstrong family reunions, bringing together family members and creating lasting memories. An avid animal lover and active tennis player, Kathryn embraced life with passion and enthusiasm. Over the years she showed special affection to many dogs. Her dedication to her church community was evident through her longtime membership and many years of service as a Sunday School teacher.
Kathryn leaves behind a loving family who will miss her deeply. She is survived by her children, Sarah Apodaca (Joshua Winkle), Elizabeth Zuniga (Jacob), and Jeremiah Apodaca. She is also survived by her sisters, Karen Armstrong Schuelke, Karla Armstrong Fara, Kimberly Wentz, and Kelli Larson, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Abriana Martinez, Adam Apodaca, Gabriel Apodaca, Madison Zuniga, Lexi Zuniga, Akira Apodaca, and Ella Zuniga. Additionally, Kathryn was blessed with great-grandchildren, Logan and Ally Jacquez, alongside numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Kathryn Raveling was predeceased by her parents, Charles Nicholas Armstrong and Barbara Ann Gunn Armstrong, and her husband, Matthew Raveling. Her legacy of love and commitment to her family, friends, and community will be remembered by all who knew her. She touched many lives with her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering spirit.
