Juan Medina, Taos NM passed from this earth into the arms of the Lord on January 28, 2026.

Juan was born in Arroyo Hondo , NM on September 6 ,1939 to Rubel and Rosaura Medina. He was the youngest of a large blended family and the last one to pass on.

Juan was preceded in death by his third son Andrew Timothy Medina, his stepson Mark Baca, grandchildren Leondro and Feliciana Medina and Mario Vigil.

He is survived by his wife Beatrice his children Jesse (Ramona), Maria (Ben), Joseph Anthony (Ethel), Rosann (Patrick), and Wayne (Rayne) Medina and his stepson Frank Rivera. He had eight grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren-all who loved him dearly. He was also blessed with a large extended family and friends. He shared many good times and laughs together with them.

Juan attended school in Arroyo Hondo, then worked as a carpenter, having his own company J and J Construction. He then worked as a custodian at the Taos Public Schools and retired. But then decided to work at Plaza Retiro for awhile, until an injury forced him back into retirement.

Retirement gave Juan more time for the mountains, his favorite place to be. He loved camping and fishing. The annual hunting trip in the fall with the guys was a greatly anticipated event for him. He planned for it for months.

Juan will be missed greatly by his loved ones but they know he is in Heaven now, healthy and at peace. We are comforted with that knowledge.

A rosary will be held at Riveras Funeral Home on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Internment will be at a later date.
